Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This policy describes how the Android TV Remote mobile app (“the app”), published by Eli Solution, handles information. It is the privacy policy for the Google Play and Apple App Store listings.
Who we are
The controller is Eliasz Kubala, operating as Eli Solution, Poland. Website: https://elisolution.pl. Contact: privacy@elisolution.pl.
What the app does
The app is a remote control for your own Android TV. It finds the television on your local network, pairs with it, and sends remote commands from your phone. The app has no account and no sign-in.
Microphone
Voice search uses the microphone only while you hold the voice control. The recording is sent to the paired Android TV on your local network so the television can run its own voice search. We do not upload that audio to Eli Solution servers, and we do not store it.
iOS asks for microphone access with the reason “Send voice search to your Android TV.” Android uses the record-audio permission for the same feature. You can deny the permission and keep using the rest of the remote.
Local network and pairing
The app looks for an Android TV on the network you are connected to and opens an encrypted connection to that television. Remote commands travel between your phone and the television. They are not sent to us.
To stay paired, the app stores these items on your device only:
- the television address and name
- the pairing certificate and its private key
- your app shortcuts, button layout, touch sensitivity, and theme
Removing the app, or clearing pairing in the app, deletes that data from the device.
Diagnostics
The app sends crash and performance data to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), using Sentry’s European ingestion endpoint (de.sentry.io). This can include:
- crash reports and error messages
- performance traces and profiles
- a short session replay when a session is sampled or when an error occurs, which can include what was on screen in the app
- device and app version, and the IP address of the connection
We use this to find and fix failures. We do not use it for advertising. Sentry keeps it for a limited time under our project settings, typically up to 90 days.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not receive your television’s remote commands or voice audio on our servers.
Legal bases
If the GDPR applies, we rely on these bases:
- providing the remote you asked for, including local pairing and voice search you start (contract, and the system permission you grant)
- keeping the app reliable through crash and performance reports (legitimate interest)
You can object to diagnostic processing by emailing us. You can also deny microphone and local-network access in the system settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we process, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland that authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Email privacy@elisolution.pl to make a request. Information that stays only on your phone is under your control through the app and the system settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
